Online Payment

The Region of Waterloo can receive payments through your bank's secure website, branches, ATM or telephone system for the invoices below.

Online payments are available to customers banking with the following financial institutions:

TelPay If you bank with a credit union (service charges apply).

Which invoices can I pay online?

Once you set up an online payment to Waterloo Region with your bank, you can pay:

  • Waterloo Region Finance Invoices
  • Waterloo Region Housing
  • Waterloo Region Sunnyside Home
  • Waterloo Region Community Alzheimer's Program.

Each payee category has its own Unique Identifier, which will be printed on each invoice (see examples in the chart below).

If you receive invoices from more than one area of the Region, you must set up a separate payee category for each area. For example, to pay an invoice for Sunnyside Home - Long Term Care and an invoice issued by the Finance Department, Waterloo Region Sunnyside Home and Waterloo Region Finance Invoices must be listed as separate payee categories.

How do I set up online payments?

Log in to your bank's website, follow the instructions to add Waterloo Region as a new payee, and include your unique identifier (printed on the invoice). You are now ready to make a payment.

Payee information starts with "Waterloo Region" and appears in your bank's payee list as follows:

  • Waterloo Region Finance Invoices (WRFIN)
  • Waterloo Region Housing (WRH)
  • Waterloo Region Sunnyside Home (WRSH)
  • Waterloo Region Community Alzheimer's Program (WRCAP)

Other payment options

The Region of Waterloo also accepts cheques, VISA, MasterCard, Debit (in person) and American Express (available at certain locations only).
