This Administration and Finance Committee is responsible for considering and reporting on all matters of administrative and financial importance referred to it by Council, other Standing Committees, the Chief Administrative Officer, the Commissioner of Human Resources, the Chief Financial Officer, the Commissioner of Corporate Resources, the Regional Solicitor and the Director of Council & Administrative Services/Regional Clerk. Such matters would include policies relating to the function of the Finance Department including borrowing and investments, risk management, financial reporting, purchasing, tax policy, grants and budgetary procedures; policies related to the Human Resources Department including recruitment and staffing, employee relations and compensation and training and development; and administrative and legal matters arising from the Corporate Resources Department, including facilities management, fleet maintenance, information technology services, corporate records and archives. The Committee is also the designated Head under the provision of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act with the day-to-day decision-making responsibility delegated by by-law to the Director of Council & Administrative Services/Regional Clerk.
