  • April 5-May 30, 2013 - Look who's 40! - The Region of Waterloo officially came into being on January 1, 1973.  This year marks the 40th anniversary of regional government in the area.  Why was the Region formed?  What went into the initial planning?  How was the Region structured?  Find out how it all began as we step back to 1973 to celebrate this milestone year. View the exhibit in the lobby of Regional Administrative Headquarters, 150 Frederick Street, Kitchener, Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.

Upcoming Events

  • May 11, 2013 - Police Week Open House at Headquarters is held each year as part of the kick off to Police Week.  The open house creates an opportunity for the public to tour the Headquarters facilities and take part in numerous family-friendly events and activities.  We will have a display of archival records documenting policing in Waterloo Region.  200 Maple Grove Road, Cambridge, 10 am - 3 pm.

  • September 21, 2013 - Doors Open Waterloo Region is a celebration of our community's architectural and historical past.  It  facilitates understanding and enjoyment of local architecture and built heritage and encourages partnerships between building owners, the business community, the cities and townships, the heritage community and community volunteers.
