May 31, 2017 -  Reflections:  Social Development in Waterloo Region, 1850-1880.  Ever wonder why some issues are considered social problems while others are considered crimes? For some of the answers, we can look back to the 1850s right here in Waterloo Region.

Join Dr. Sandra Hoy and Charlotte Woodley to discuss the institutions that helped respond to - and define - what is a social problem and what is a crime: the House of Industry and Refuge, and the Waterloo Region courthouse and gaol. We'll chat together about how things were, how they might have changed, and how they may have stayed the same.
