Picture of Regional Councillor Joe NowakJoe Nowak was elected as Mayor of Wellesley on October 27, 2014, and through his role as Mayor also serves as Regional Councillor. Joe has lived in Wellesley for the past 34 years, and received a BA in Economics from the University of Waterloo. His political career has consisted of serving two terms as the Councillor for Ward 3, alongside three terms on the Committee of Adjustment within the Township of Wellesley. Joe has been involved in his community through serving on Advisory Boards of the Wellesley Community Health Centre, as well as the Linwood Nurse Practitioner's Office. Joe was also the founding Chair of the Wellesley Co-operative Preschool, and was the longest-serving president of the Wellesley District Board of Trade.

As a member of Regional Council, Joe believes in the importance of controlling taxes, working towards solving the infrastructure deficit, and fostering growth within Wellesley, all while still maintaining a strong community identity.
