Meet Todd Cowan

Todd Cowan was elected Mayor of Woolwich Township on October 25, 2010 and in his role as Mayor is also a member of Waterloo Regional Council.

Todd is currently the General Manager of Martha's Mixes Wild Bird Centre. He previously worked at Queen's Park for more than 10 years and held numerous positions working as policy advisor in the Ministries of Corrections, Government Services, and Education. Other roles included serving as Chief of Staff to an MPP and Parliamentary Assistant to an MPP.  As well, he was Special Assistant and strategic researcher for Dalton McGuinty. Before his Queen's Park years, Todd was a Vice President of customer service for a financial services firm.

Todd and his wife Joanne have three children and have lived in Elmira for the past 10 years. Todd serves on the Elmira Downtown Business Improvement Area and is a board member of the Waterloo North Hydro Corporation and Kiwanis Transit. He is active on the St. Theresa of Avila Parish Council and is a Member of the Knights of Columbus Council 8192 Elmira. Todd has also coached minor hockey and baseball.

For the 2010-2014 Regional Council Term, Todd has been appointed by Regional Council to the following Committees, Boards and other organizations:
