Waterloo Region has three main Standing Committees that are solely comprised of the Members of Regional of Council:
Each Councillor and the Regional Chair is a member of these Standing Committees. The Committees meet regularly to hear from the public and engage in detailed debate and review of Regional programs, policies and staff proposals. They also make recommendations to Regional Council. Speaking at Council or Committee
Any person wishing to speak as a delegation before Council or a Committee must register with the Regional Clerk's Office at 519-575-4400 by noon on the Thursday prior to the meeting date. Note: Any comments addressed to the Regional Clerk or Members of Council by a delegation become part of the public record.

Meeting Times & Locations
Council generally meets every three weeks on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m.

The three main Standing Committees generally meet every three weeks on Tuesday mornings, starting at 9 a.m.
- From January to July, the Planning & Works Committee meets at 9 a.m., followed by the Administration & Finance Committee and the Community Services Committee.
- From August to December, the Community Services Committee meets at 9 a.m., followed by the Administration & Finance Committee and the Planning and Works Committee.
- Note: All Council and Standing Committee meetings are held in Council Chambers at 150 Frederick St., Kitchener. Times are subject to change, please contact the Regional Clerk's Office to confirm.
