Region invites residents to public open house on Franklin Boulevard Improvements, Avenue Road to Bishop Street

Posted on Wednesday April 10, 2024

Waterloo Region – Considering future growth in the area, Regional staff is looking to improve safety and reduce delays for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers along Franklin Boulevard between Avenue Road and Bishop Street.

The project team has established a preferred option that focuses on the design of the two intersections at Saginaw Parkway and Can-Amera Parkway. The preferred option includes roundabouts at these two intersections and a pedestrian pathway that will run under Franklin Boulevard.

Public Input

We invite residents to view the options and offer feedback at a public presentation and open house on April 25, 2024.

Presentation and open house

April 25 at St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School, 50 Saginaw Parkway in Cambridge. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with a presentation at 7 p.m. followed by an opportunity to view information boards and ask questions of the project team. The presentation and information boards will be posted to the project page on EngageWR.ca following the open house. The opportunity to comment on the drawings will be open until May 12.

Next Steps

The project team will review all public feedback before presenting a report and preferred design to Regional Council this summer.
