Construction notice: Bleams Road Improvements, Kitchener, May 2024 to December 2025 closure
About the project
We are reconstructing Bleams Road and adding multi-use trails on both sides and installing a new watermain. In addition, we’re adding roundabouts along Bleams Road at each of Commonwealth, Donnenwerth, Isaiah and Trussler. We are also including a section of sanitary sewer on Trussler Road in the area of Ottawa Street.
Timing and closures — May 21 to December 2025
Construction will proceed in stages, from Fischer-Hallman Road heading to Trussler Road. During each stage, Bleams Road will be closed to through traffic. Local access will be maintained for emergency vehicles, residents and patrons of the immediate area. As each stage is completed, it will be reopened to traffic.
Detour
A detour will be in place on Fischer-Hallman, Ottawa and Trussler for through traffic. Emergency Services have been notified of the construction, closures and detours to minimize any disruptions to services.
Pedestrian access
Pedestrian traffic will be maintained along Bleams Road from Forestwalk Street to Fischer Hallman Road. Pedestrians should follow the signs as they walk through the site.
Property and business access
Access will be available to all businesses, institutions and residences in the construction area, with only temporary impacts to access. Businesses remain open. Please plan for some delays and travel carefully in the construction zone. We request that when driving or walking through and around the construction zone you follow and obey the construction traffic signage for your safety and for the safety of the workers.
