Construction Notice: Myers Road Ramp to California Road, City of Cambridge July–December 2024

About the project

The Region of Waterloo is building a ramp connection from Myers Road to California Road in the City of Cambridge for pedestrians and cyclists. The project includes a new concrete ramp with retaining walls, handrails, lighting and replacing noise walls adjacent to the ramp.

Timing — starts July 8, 2024

We are starting construction on or about July 8, 2024. The project is expected to be completed by December 2024.  Construction will happen Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. and occasional weekend/evening work may occur.

Closures

Myers Road between Gatehouse Road/Lisbon Pines Drive and Branchton Road will be closed to eastbound traffic for the duration of construction. Westbound traffic will be maintained on Myers Road during the construction.

Detour

The detour route for eastbound traffic will be via Franklin Boulevard – Dundas Street – Branchton Road – Myers Road.

Emergency Services (Police, Fire, Paramedics) will be notified of these road closures and detours to minimize any disruptions to services.

Pedestrian access

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times on the sidewalk on the north side of Myers Road. Pedestrians should follow the signs as they walk near the site.

Property and business access

All properties in the construction area remain open and accessible during construction. Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.).

Please plan for some delays and travel carefully in the construction zone. Please follow and obey the construction signs when you drive or walk through the construction area, for your safety and for the safety of the workers.
