Waterloo Region – The Region of Waterloo 2025 Arts Funding Application is now open to members of the community. $265,000 in Regional funds will go towards funding individual artists, artists collectives and arts organizations contributing to the vibrant culture of Waterloo Region.

The Region of Waterloo has selected MT Space as an administrative partner for a three-year period, who will be responsible for collecting, reviewing and administrating grant funds to local artists and arts organizations.

“Investing in our creative community remains a key priority for the Region of Waterloo,” said Karen Redman, Regional Chair. “In MT Space, we have found a collaborative partner who will help us continue to provide funding in an equitable, transparent and efficient way while we explore options for a sustainable, long-term arts funding model.”

"This is a very exciting endeavour for us, and we recognize the enormous responsibility we hold,” said Pam Patel, Artistic Director of MT Space. “We see this as an opportunity to further offer our capacity and resources beyond the work at MT Space – to recognize the incredible art that is only found in Waterloo Region, and to nurture the local network of artists so we can deepen our connection to each other and support a collaborative ecology.”

Applications are welcomed and encouraged from individual artists and arts organizations of all art forms and disciplines that are based in Cambridge, Kitchener, North Dumfries, Waterloo, Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich. Artistic projects must occur within 12 months and can request a maximum amount of $10,000 in funding.

Interested applicants are invited to attend an online information session hosted by MT Space on Mondays at 4 p.m. until the application deadline. Registration for these sessions can be found at regionofwaterloo.ca/ROWArtsFunding.

An interdisciplinary peer jury system will review applications. Representation of the jury will include individuals across various art forms and diverse backgrounds with consideration of Black, Racialized, newcomer, immigrant artists; Deaf and disability arts; combination of emerging, mid-career, and established artists; a range across age, gender, and regional representation (cities and townships).

The 2025 application process is currently open, more information can be found at regionofwaterloo.ca/ROWArtsFunding.

Applications are due November 21, 2025.
