Preferred cycling lane designs to be shared at public meeting

Posted on Thursday November 09, 2023

Waterloo Region – The Region of Waterloo is looking to convert the temporary cycling facilities introduced through a pilot project in 2019 in Waterloo and Kitchener, to permanent facilities, and further expand the cycling network. This project looked at cycling facilities along King Street North, University Avenue, Erb Street, Bridgeport Road, and Caroline Street.

Following a feasibility study, evaluation of the alternatives, consideration of community and stakeholder feedback, and a review of the Region’s previously approved plans, a preferred design has been finalized and is ready to be shared.

  • Show residents what the corridors may look like in the future through visualization tools, renderings and design drawings.
  • Provide an opportunity for members of the public to share comments about specific details of the preferred alternative design using an online tool and ask questions of the project team.
