Region of Waterloo announces 2025 recipients of the Major Arts and Culture Organizations grants
Waterloo Region - The Region of Waterloo is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2025 Major Arts and Culture Organizations (MACO) grant funding. These grants support organizations that make our community vibrant by offering cultural and artistic programming throughout the year.
MACO is part of the Region’s ongoing commitment to support the arts, enhance cultural life, and foster economic development in Waterloo Region. This one-time funding is for organizations with annual operating budgets greater than $250,000.
“We are thrilled to support these dynamic organizations that are dedicated to fostering artistic expression and cultural diversity in our community," said Karen Redman, Regional Chair. "These grants are about more than just funding projects; they’re about uplifting voices, creating opportunities and empowering our local arts community to continue building a more vibrant future that will enrich the lives of all residents across Waterloo Region."
A total of $306,000 has been awarded to 10 organizations to help them create and share artistic works and programs in public facilities. This financial support helps ensure the organization's efforts are easy to access, stable and create a positive impact on our community as it grows and evolves.
The 2025 grant recipients are:
- Button Factory Arts Centre - $22,590
- CAFKA (Contemporary Art Forum of Kitchener and Area) - $21,040
- Grand Philharmonic Choir - $35,100
- Green Light Arts - $27,790
- Homer Watson House and Gallery - $35,000
- Inter Arts Matrix - $18,400
- Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony - $30,910
- MT Space - $62,020
- Neruda Arts - $31,220
- The Registry Theatre - $21,930
