Columbia Street to Laurelwood Drive
Project update
As part of the Fischer-Hallman Road (Columbia to Westmount) reconstruction work, the northbound closure between Columbia Street and Laurelwood Drive is being extended until October 14, 2024.
This closure helps to improve working conditions for the crew and traffic flow in this area.
Timing
The northbound closure between Columbia Street and Laurelwood Drive will last until October 14, 2024. Afterwards this section of Fischer-Hallman will reopen to two-way traffic in November 2024.
Closures
Fischer-Hallman Road between Columbia Street and Laurelwood Drive will be closed to northbound traffic until October 14, 2024.
Detour
Drivers can access the Sobeys plaza on Columbia Street or by travelling southbound on Fischer-Hallman Road.
Emergency Services (Police, Fire, and Paramedics) have been notified of the construction to minimize any disruptions to services.
Pedestrian access
Sidewalks in this area will remain accessible during the project. Pedestrians should follow the signs as they walk through the site.
Property and business access
All businesses in the construction area remain open and accessible during construction. Every effort will be made to maintain access to residential and business driveways in the construction area during working hours. Construction activities may temporarily impact access to entrances.
If possible, please avoid this area during construction and please plan for delays and travel carefully in the construction zone if you need be in this area. We request that when driving or walking through and around the construction zone you follow and obey the construction traffic signage for your safety and for the safety of the workers.
