Waterloo Region – The Region of Waterloo is pleased to announce the recipients and funding allocations for the 2026 Key Cultural Institutions grant program. This program provides stable operating support to Waterloo Region’s largest cultural organizations, which are recognized as unique and essential contributors to the community’s cultural life.

“These four organizations play a vital role in our community’s cultural landscape,” said Karen Redman, Regional Chair. “They provide leadership within the cultural sector, opportunities for employment, and offer programs and exhibitions that celebrate arts, culture, and ideas locally, nationally, and internationally.”

A total of $840,603, funded through the Region of Waterloo tax levy, has been awarded to four organizations. This funding strengthens the arts, culture, and heritage sector by providing a stable financial base that supports the creation, presentation, and performance of artistic and cultural programming, as well as the effective management of facilities for the benefit of all residents of Waterloo Region.

The 2026 Key Cultural Institutions funding recipients are:

  • The Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery - $100,000
  • Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery - $93,587
  • Drayton Entertainment - $261,291
  • THEMUSEUM - $385,725
