Posted on Wednesday May 17, 2023

Waterloo Region – Starting May 23 through May 26, the Region of Waterloo and its contractor, Steed & Evans Ltd. will have rotating closures in Kitchener on Ottawa, Weber, and King streets, and area side streets for asphalt work.

These roads will be closed for a short time while the asphalt is applied. Signs will be posted in the affected areas in advance of the daily closure. Please choose alternate routes. The duration of the work will depend on the weather and the progress made each day.

Proposed schedule:

Day 1: Ottawa Street, highway ramps to Rosedale Ave. — One-way traffic maintained from ramps to Weber St. only.

Day 2: Ottawa Street, Rosedale Ave. to Charles St. E. — Full road closure

Day 3: Weber Street, Ottawa St. N. to Borden Ave. — Full road closure

Day 4: Weber Street, Sheldon Ave. to Ottawa St. N. – Full road closure, and Segments of Ottawa St. N. and King St. — Lane closures only

Line painting will happen between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. daily but roads will remain open during this work.

Onsite staff will coordinate with school crossing guards to ensure student and pedestrian safety is maintained.
