Waterloo Region has a growing aerospace sector.

The Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF) is centrally located in southwestern Ontario, and features aerospace infrastructure for surrounding businesses. The Waterloo International Airport is also close to the Highway 401 corridor and only 45 minutes west of Toronto.

Waterloo Region is conveniently located for distribution of products and logistical and transportation requirements. Less than a two hour drive to three US borders, Waterloo Region neighbours Canada's major aerospace export market.

In addition, the Region of Waterloo International Airport's Aviation Business Park is situated on almost 1,000 acres of land in one of the most diverse and dynamic economic areas of Canada. The business park is fully-serviced with land available for development.

The Region of Waterloo International Airport also hosts the Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre, established in 1932, and is one of the top flight schools in Canada. The Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre partners with local post-secondary institutions and trains over 50 private pilots annually.

With nine colleges and universities within commuting distance (approximately one hour), offering a combined 23 aerospace-related programs, Waterloo Region is home to diverse aerospace talent.
