The Waterloo Region Economic Development Strategy (WREDS) is being restructured for 2025 and will be accompanied by a Talent Attraction, Retention, and Reskilling Plan (“Talent Plan”).
The 2025 Waterloo Region Economic Development Strategy will identify and prioritize growth opportunities for Waterloo Region, leveraging current and future trends, fostering collaboration among all stakeholders, and ensuring a shared commitment to achieving sustainable economic success. Talent Attraction, Retention and Reskilling Plan |
The Talent Attraction, Retention and Reskilling Plan will accompany the Waterloo Region Economic Development Strategy as a standalone strategy intended to identify the strengths and opportunities for growth and improvement in Waterloo Region’s talent ecosystem, supporting businesses and investment readiness in the region.
Consultation throughout the community has helped to inform the upcoming Talent Plan, with key insights and strategies being co-created with businesses from across Waterloo Region. Visit the project engagement page for updates on the development of the Talent Plan. |
Waterloo Economic Development Corporation (Waterloo EDC) |
The Waterloo Economic Development Corporation (Waterloo EDC) is responsible for investment attraction, foreign direct investment, prospective business support and liaison, and supporting the growth of key sectors.
