The Region of Waterloo can receive payments through your bank's secure website, branches, ATM or telephone system for the invoices that you receive from us.
Online payments can be made through your financial institutions, including the following:
- TD Canada Trust
- RBC Royal Bank
- BMO Bank of Montreal
- CIBC
- Scotiabank
- TelPay If you bank with a credit union (service charges apply).
Which invoices can I pay online?
Once you set up an online payment to Waterloo Region with your financial institution, you can pay invoice for the following using a unique identifier:
- Waterloo Region Finance Invoices
- Waterloo Region Housing
- Waterloo Region Sunnyside Home
- Waterloo Region Community Alzheimer's Program
- Waterloo Region Water Billing (applicable for residents of Township of Wellesley and North Dumfries only)
Unique Identifiers are printed on your invoices, for example, to pay an invoice for Sunnyside Home - Long Term Care you can set up your Payee with your identifier (think of it as an account number, just like a phone bill). You will need to set up one Payee for each of the types of Region of Waterloo bills you want to pay online.
How do I set up online payments?
Log in to your bank's website, follow the instructions to add Waterloo Region as a new payee, and include your unique identifier (printed on the invoice). You are now ready to make a payment!
Payee information starts with "Waterloo Region" and appears in your bank's payee list as follows:
- Waterloo Region Finance Invoices (WRFIN)
- Waterloo Region Housing (WRH)
- Waterloo Region Sunnyside Home (WRSH)
- Waterloo Region Community Alzheimer's Program (WRCAP)
- Waterloo Region Water Billling
Other payment options
The Region of Waterloo also accepts cheques, Debit, VISA, MasterCard, (in person) and American Express at certain locations. Contact the call centre for details on where these payment options are available: 519-575-4400, TTY: 519-575-4608.
You can pay provincial offences tickets or fines online through the Pay Tickets website.

The Region will NOT request or accept credit card payment information via fax or email.
