Public Health Resource Kits
Health teaching kits for all ages
Teaching kits prepared for educators, students, caregivers and all citizens of Waterloo Region are available to borrow free of charge through the Region of Waterloo Library. The health teaching kits provide:
- Hands-on opportunities to teach about health
- Topics such as healthy eating, hand washing, dental health, physical activity, injury and substance use prevention, and more
- Games, models, and ideas for activities
Library Cards
To sign out Public Health educational kits a Region of Waterloo library card is required. Library cards can be obtained at no cost either online or in-person from one of the Region of Waterloo Library Branches.
How to reserve
The available Public Health resource kits can be reserved through the online catalogue or through the “Ask a Librarian” service.
Pick-up
Resource kits will be available for pick-up at:
- Region of Waterloo Library Branches
- Welcome Spaces
- 99 Regina Street South, Waterloo Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- 150 Main Street, Cambridge Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
The desired location for pick-up can be specified during the sign out process. Please note that there will be a delay between the reservation time and the time that the resource kit is available for pick-up, as the kit will need to be transported to the pick-up location. Resource kits will generally be available for pick-up within 3-7 days of the reservation date. A notification will be sent by phone or email when the resource kit is ready for pick-up.
