Home/Living Here/Older Adults/Sunnyside Wellness Centre

Older adults working out on the treadmill and equipment inside Sunnyside Wellness Centre.

The Sunnyside Wellness Centre is a welcoming space for older adults to exercise in a comfortable, accepting and barrier-free setting. It also offers services such as massage, foot care and physiotherapy to help with aging well.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Wellness Centre remains closed with the exception of physiotherapy and foot care service appointments. Measures are in place to protect clients and staff (see below). View the full list of closures and service changes in Seniors' Services.

COVID-19 safety measures

The following measures are in place to ensure we can provide you with the services you need while we all work together to stay healthy.

Screening and personal protective equipment

  • When booking an appointment by phone, patients will complete a screening questionnaire. They will complete a second screening questionnaire at the clinic before entering.

  • All clinic staff are screened each day before entering the clinic. This includes a questionnaire and touchless temperature check.

  • Face masks must be worn by all staff and clients, as per recommendations from provincial public health authorities and professional regulatory bodies.

  • Clients will bring their own masks. Hand sanitizer will be provided.

Maintaining social distancing

  • Plexiglass screen guards have been installed at all clinics at reception.
  • Patient appointment times will be staggered to enable social distancing, screening, and time for cleaning treatment areas and equipment.
  • Clinic waiting and treatment areas have been rearranged to maintain 2 metres of physical distancing with signage and floor decals as reminders.

Cleaning and disinfecting

  • Clinics will undergo a thorough cleaning throughout each day.
  • Following all treatment sessions, staff will clean any equipment used and all high touch surfaces such as door handles.
