Financial Assistance

Many people in Waterloo Region struggle to meet their basic needs. It could be a senior on a limited income who is at risk of losing their home because of rising hydro rates, or a parent who can't work to support their family because they can't afford child care.

Financial assistance can be a first step to improving lives. The Region of Waterloo and its partners offer a range of programs and services to help. These include:

Need help with your income taxes? The Region of Waterloo hosts free tax clinics where volunteers complete tax returns for eligible people who need help. If you are a client of Region of Waterloo Community Services or a senior (60+), with:
- a modest income and
- a simple tax situation
you can get help with your income taxes at a Welcome Space

The clinics will run between March 3 and April 30, 2025 and will be open for walk-ins between 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m, Monday to Friday (closed holidays).
