Here For You

We’re here for you. The Region of Waterloo will continue to provide residents with the municipal programs and services you depend on.

Although most Regional programs and services have continued throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, some were modified, reduced or put on hold. We are now beginning to re-open some facilities and re-introduce services.

What to expect at Regional buildings

We are adapting our buildings, service delivery and programming to ensure the health and safety of citizens and staff.

Expect some new business practices that reflect our changing environment. For example:

  • Plexiglas barriers on buses and in customer service areas
  • New rules in our buildings to ensure physical distancing (e.g. limiting the number of people in bathrooms and on elevators)
  • More hand sanitizing stations
  • More services available online

Thank you for your patience as we adapt to our ‘new normal’. If you have questions, please call us at 519-575-4400.

In the community

Most businesses and workplaces in Waterloo Region have now reopened, but it’s important to remember that we must take a slow and cautious approach. We are guided by provincial direction, so continue to check the Province of Ontario website for the most up-to-date information about business and workplace reopening and changing guidelines for Ontario.

Help keep yourself and others safe by:

  • Continuing public health measures: Physical distancing, handwashing, wearing masks and other health measures must continue.
  • Taking it slow: COVID-19 cases can rise very quickly if we are not careful.
  • Staying informed: Information changes quickly. Check trusted sources of information often.
