Municipal Speed Cameras – Certificates of Accuracy
Ontario's Highway Traffic Act requires that the speed measurement component of each Municipal Speed Camera system is verified once every twelve months to ensure that it is accurate. A Provincial Offences Officer issuing a penalty order for a Municipal Speed Camera charge must first verify that there is a Certificate of Accuracy for the device issued within twelve months of the date of the offence.
The Certificates of Accuracy are made available for disclosure. Please refer to the location and offence date on your penalty order to identify the corresponding Certificate of Accuracy.

Inactive Certificates of Accuracy
Before the transition to the Administrative Penalties Program, effective February 3, 2025, vehicle licence plate owners may have been issued a provincial offence notice for a speed camera charge. A provincial offence notice issued before February 3, 2025 is processed through the Provincial Offences Court office.
A Provincial Offences Officer issuing a provincial offence notice for a speed camera charge must first verify that there is a Certificate of Accuracy for the device issued within twelve months of the date of the offence. The following inactive Certificates of Accuracy are made available for disclosure. Please refer to the location and offence date on your provincial offence notice to identify the corresponding Certificate of Accuracy.
