Public Health
Public Health helps people stay healthy. Its programs and services aim to promote healthy living, protect the health of populations and prevent illness and disease.
The Region of Waterloo Council serves as the Board of Health for this Region. Public Health and Emergency Services report to the Board of Health.
Board of Health
The Board of Health is governed by the Health Protection and Promotion Act and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care's Ontario Public Health Standards (OPHS) and Protocols. The Standards and Protocols establish the minimum requirements for public health programs and services.
