Colleen James was elected to Regional Council in October 2022, representing City of Kitchener residents. She has over 15 years of experience in municipal government at both the city and regional levels, and she is a local business owner and former professor.

Colleen is committed to the future sustainability of the region and is proud to represent Kitchener residents. Her values guide her leadership and decision-making, including building trusted relationships, fostering meaningful community discussions, listening and collaborating, empowering others, taking action, and being accountable.

She holds an Honours B.A. in history, political science, and Caribbean studies from the University of Toronto and a master’s degree in leadership, higher, and adult education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at U of T.

Born and raised in Kitchener, Colleen currently lives there with her husband, Daren, and their daughter.
