Kari was elected to Regional Council in 2022, representing Kitchener.

Born and raised in Kitchener, Kari attended Christ Lutheran School, Eastwood Collegiate, and Wilfrid Laurier University (BA, MA Political Science). 

Kari has more than 10 years of political research experience including government, academic, and non-profit projects. Her Master’s degree in Political Science and Research allowed her to focus on poverty reduction strategies at the local level and inspired her to become more involved in her own community.

Kari is a Community Development Volunteer and sits on the Board of Directors of the Stanley Park Community Association where she runs a community meal program.

In her spare time, Kari enjoys attending the symphony, rock concerts, watching comedies, swimming, paddle boarding, trails and baking. Kari and her husband Nathan live in Kitchener with their two school aged children.
