Open data
Open data allows the public to access the Region's data more easily and encourages innovation in the community. The data can be accessed by everyone for free and used or republished with very few restrictions.
Check out the Region's Open Data portal to see what data is available.
Community Data Program
The Waterloo Region Community Data Program (CDP) provides local non-profit organizations and municipalities with access to data at a low cost to help them plan, deliver and evaluate services. CDP members can also benefit from networking and training on data and analytics. Membership is open to any public, non-profit, or community organization that focuses on local service delivery or public policy.
Here are a few local publications and initiatives that used CDP data:
- A Profile of Wellbeing in Waterloo Region
- Waterloo Region Immigration Factsheets
- Waterloo Region Census Bulletins
- Child Wellbeing Dashboard
- Children and Youth Planning Table Research
To learn more about the CDP and to become a member, email Ross Graham, Manager of Information, Planning and Foundational Standards in Public Health.
The Waterloo Region Community Data Program is one of 33 CDPs in communities across Canada. Learn more about these programs at www.communitydata.ca.
