About Us

Safe and Well Waterloo Region is a community-led plan that brings together people, organizations, and institutions to advance community safety and wellbeing. Developed with residents, grassroots groups, non-profits, and system partners, Safe and Well Waterloo Region recognizes that community safety is more than crime prevention – it is also shaped by how connected and supported people feel in their communities. 

The plan takes a proactive approach to community safety by focusing on the social conditions that help people thrive, while also prioritizing prevention and early intervention. Community members and partners work together to break down silos and address complex community challenges together. Grounded in equity, reconciliation, and belonging, the plan strives to create a community where everyone feels safe and supported.
