TravelWise is an internationally recognized workplace program available to employers across Waterloo Region. TravelWise aims to encourage employees to take transit, cycle, walk and carpool to work instead of driving alone.
As a TravelWise member, your employees have access to carpool matching software, GRT's Corporate Transit Pass, and reimbursement for emergency rides home.

We are happy to meet with you to discuss membership options and how promotion of sustainable commuting can align with your organization's corporate culture and goals.
|
Why is commuting important?
|
Workforce demands are changing. The way we get to work is being redefined and employees are increasingly interested in having commuting options. Organizations that stay ahead of the curve and provide commuting programs and solutions benefit through:
- Reduced parking demand and costs
- Increased employee satisfaction and retention
- Increased access to top employees
- Positive corporate exposure and leadership

TravelWise services for your employees
|
Corporate Transit Pass Program - save 15%!
|
Employees at workplaces participating in TravelWise can save 15% on transit fares by purchasing a monthly Corporate Pass or stored value!
To view current prices and to purchase, visit GRT's Corporate Pass page.
Please note the Corporate Pass program is exclusive to employees at workplaces currently participating in TravelWise. Employee friends and family members are not eligible for the Corporate Pass program. |
Dedicated carpool network for employees
|
GoTravelWise.ca is an online carpool matching platform where employees can find and organize carpools. TravelWise members will have their own private network for workplace-specific initiatives.
Employees can also log commuting trips to see the impact and cost savings of their sustainable commute - a useful tool if your workplace has a carbon reduction target.
To try searching for carpool matches and logging trips, visit GoTravelWise.ca and make an account.
|
Emergency ride home reimbursement program
|
Employees who bus, carpool, walk, or bike to work have access to an Emergency Ride Home Reimbursement program.
TravelWise will repay travel costs if an employee needs to leave work for an emergency or other unplanned event (e.g., employee who biked to work takes a taxi to pick up their sick child from school and takes them home).
To see the program's terms and conditions or submit a claim, review the Emergency Ride Home form.

Promotions
TravelWise hosts member-wide promotional events to promote its services and help make sustainable commuting part of your workplace culture. These events often include prize draws and focus on encouraging your employees to try new ways of getting to work (for example, Carpool Month, Bike Month, Transit Showcase, etc.).
Employee travel behaviour surveys
To help find commuting solutions that will work for your workplace, TravelWise carries out employee travel behaviour surveys. These surveys provide you with a better understanding of how your employees get to work and what would motivate them to adopt new behaviours.
TravelWise develops and promotes the survey for your workplace, and will provide you with a report and recommendations.
Based on the results of your employee travel behaviour survey, TravelWise will help your organization identify goals and opportunities for developing or refining commuter programs and policies.
