The property is designated as Mixed-use Medium Density Residential in the City of Waterloo’s Official Plan and the project is intended to fit within the current official plan and zoning permissions for 555 Beechwood.

Charles Street Terminal, Kitchener

The Region of Waterloo and City of Kitchener are working towards a vision for a mixed-use development on the former Charles Street Terminal site, in the heart of downtown Kitchener. This vision will be informed by environmental and technical findings, financial modeling and community engagement.

30 Lauris Avenue, Cambridge

30 Lauris Avenue will provide affordable rental housing for low to moderate income households. The property will be developed and managed through a qualified developer and will be maintained in Regional ownership through a land lease for a term not less than 57 years.

The Region of Waterloo will be seeking a development partner to build mixed-income housing at 41 Westhill Drive in Waterloo. A request for proposal (RFP) has been issued to seek proposals from companies and/or non-profits interested in developing the property.
