Between June 1, 2026 and August 31, 2026, municipalities within the Region of Waterloo will be conducting a larviciding program under the authority of the Region of Waterloo Medical Officer of Health to prevent the development of mosquito larvae into vectors of West Nile Virus.

Regional Council has approved a three-year agreement with Unifor Local 4304.
Members of Unifor Local 4304 have voted to accept a three-year agreement with The Region of Waterloo. A special meeting of Regional Council will take place in the coming days for final ratification of the agreement.
The Region of Waterloo and Unifor Local 4304 have reached a tentative agreement. Transit services will continue uninterrupted, pending ratification by union members on Sunday, May 3.
An application by the Region of Waterloo for approval to expropriate land, which is required for the construction of road improvements to Fountain Street North between Kossuth Road /Fairway Road North and Cherry Blossom Road in the City of Cambridge, in the Regional Municipality of Waterloo.
