Regional Council approves recount for City of Waterloo Regional Councilor election
Regional Council has approved a recount for the Regional Councilor – Waterloo election after the official results showed a three-vote difference between Chantal Huinink and Chris Moser. Building water capacity in the Mannheim Service Area
The Region continues to advance water supply capacity in the Mannheim Service Area. Work is underway at the Mannheim Water Treatment Plant to connect the remaining containers to the plant. Repairs at the Greenbrook Water Treatment Plant—the Region’s oldest treatment plant—are expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027. In 2026, the Region added 50 L/s of water capacity in the Mannheim Service Area. This represents approximately 80 per cent of anticipated residential demand in the area. Additional capacity is planned for 2027.
