At Wednesday's Council meeting, two dedicated community members were honoured for their many community contributions and their exemplary service to Waterloo Region residents.

A mosquito surveillance trap in Kitchener has tested positive for West Nile virus. This is the first positive mosquito trap in Waterloo Region in 2026. There have been no reported human cases of West Nile virus to date this year.
