Construction notice: Main Street Bridge, Cambridge, August–September 2025

About the project
The Region of Waterloo is completing maintenance work on the Main Street Bridge in Cambridge. This work includes small concrete repairs and applying a protective coating to parts of the bridge.
Timing
Construction will start on or around August 11 and finish in September 2025.
Construction impacts
The bridge will remain open to two-way traffic throughout this work with some minor lane shifts.
The six parking spots directly west of the bridge will be closed throughout this work.
All businesses will remain open and accessible during this work.
Please plan for some delays and travel carefully around the construction zone. We request that when driving or walking through and around the construction zone you follow and obey the construction traffic signage for your safety and for the safety of the workers.
Emergency Services (Police, Fire, Paramedics) as well as the City of Cambridge have been notified of the construction, and lane closures to minimize any disruptions to services.
Pedestrian access
At least one sidewalk on the bridge will be open for pedestrians at all times. Please follow the signs as you walk through the construction site.
