INVITATION FOR PUBLIC COMMENT
Transport Canada’s Navigation Protection Program (NPP) administers the Canadian Navigable Waters Act (CNWA) which helps keep Canada’s navigable waters open for transport and recreation.
In accordance with requirements of the Canadian Navigable Waters Act, Regional Municipality of Waterloo hereby gives notice that an application has been submitted to the Minister of Transport for the below work(s):

Project Description:
The Region of Waterloo is planning to replace the Scheifele Bridge crossing the Conestogo River. The current bridge, constructed in 1958, will be replaced by a new bridge approximately 12.4 m west of the existing structure. The new bridge will be supported by two new in-water piers. In addition, approximately 90m of bank stabilization will be completed along the northern bank of the river.
Worksite Location:
Scheifele Bridge is located on Northfield Drive East (Regional Road 22) over the Conestogo River in the Township of Woolwich, within the Region of Waterloo, and is a major arterial connection between the Village of Conestogo and the City of Waterloo.
