Waterloo Region – Grand River Transit (GRT) is expanding fare buying options with the new GRT Pay app. Starting today, app users can buy single-ride GRT tickets anytime from anywhere, using their mobile device. The tickets can be used on GRT buses, trains and MobilityPLUS vehicles.

Making transit easier to use is one of the priorities of GRT’s upcoming Business Plan.

“Adding new fare payment options makes the decision to take transit easier,” said Karen Redman, Chair of the Region of Waterloo. “GRT Pay will make taking GRT even more attractive and encourage new riders. And riders help reduce the impact on the environment with every ride.”

To get started, download GRT Pay from Google Play or the Apple App Store.

GRT Pay has also been integrated with the Transit app, an existing, widely-used trip planning mobile application. Transit app users will be able to buy tickets within the app without downloading GRT Pay.
