Region hosting community drop off events for old green bins
Waterloo Region – The Region of Waterloo is hosting seven community drop off events for residents who would like to recycle their old green bins. Residents can also drop them off at either of the Region’s Waste Management sites (201 Savage Drive, Cambridge and 925 Erb St., Waterloo) during hours of operation.
There will be a drop off event in each of the cities and townships. Residents can attend the event that best fits their schedule:
April 11, 9 am-1 pm: Waterloo City Hall (Parking Lot)
April 12, 9 am-1 pm: North Dumfries Community Complex (Parking Lot)
April 18, 9 am-1 pm: Breslau Community Centre (Parking Lot)
April 19, 9 am-1 pm: Wellesley Recreation Complex (Parking Lot)
April 25, 9 am-1 pm: Wilmot Recreation Complex (Parking Lot)
April 26, 9 am-1 pm: Cambridge Farmers’ Market (Parking Lot)
May 2, 9 am-1 pm: Activa Sports Complex (Parking Lot)
Residents are encouraged to reuse their old green bins for storage, but if they cannot be used, dropping them off at the community events or the Waste Management sites will ensure they are recycled. For those who can’t make it out to an event or the waste management sites, place the bin at the curb on bulky item collection day with a “garbage please take” sign taped to it and it will be collected.
Yard waste begins this week, offered bi-weekly from Spring to Fall. Residents can confirm their yard waste schedule on our website.
