Waterloo Region, Ontario — The Region of Waterloo is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2026 Major Arts and Culture Organizations (MACO) grant funding. These grants support organizations that make our community vibrant by offering cultural and artistic programming throughout the year.

The Major Arts and Culture Organizations Grant Program is part of the Region of Waterloo’s ongoing commitment to support the arts, enhance cultural life, and foster economic development in the Waterloo Region. This one-time funding is specifically for organizations with annual operating budgets greater than $250,000.

“We are proud to support these inspiring organizations that champion artistic expression and celebrate cultural diversity throughout our community,” said Regional Chair, Karen Redman. “These grants represent more than an investment in individual projects – they are an investment in the people, ideas, and creativity that strengthen our local arts community. By supporting these organizations, we are helping amplify diverse voices, create new opportunities, and foster a more vibrant, inclusive, and connected future for all Waterloo Region residents.”

A total of $306,000 has been awarded to 10 organizations to help them create and share artistic works and programs in public facilities. This financial support helps ensure the organization's efforts are easy to access, stable and create a positive impact on our community as it grows and evolves.

• CAFKA (Contemporary Art Forum of Kitchener and Area) - $26,000
• Grand Philharmonic Choir - $38,000
• Green Light Arts - $33,000
• Homer Watson House and Gallery - $40,000
• Inter Arts Matrix - $17,000
• Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony - $31,000
• MT Space - $39,000
• Neruda Arts - $23,000
• The Registry Theatre - $31,000
