Waterloo Region – Employees at the Region of Waterloo provide services to residents every day. This work is essential and appreciated. 

The Region is now in negotiations with CUPE 1883, representing full-time office, clerical and technical employees. 

We continue to work closely with CUPE 1883, with bargaining dates set in September and October. The Region is committed to reaching an agreement that is both competitive for members and affordable for residents. 

Currently, CUPE 1883 will be in a legal strike position as of Saturday, September 26. 

In the event of a strike, some services will continue with reduced capacity. 

We understand that residents across Waterloo Region rely on the services the Region provides daily. We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available.
