The Regional Municipality of Waterloo is pleased to announce that the 2024 audited financial statements are available to the public on the Region’s website at: https://www.regionofwaterloo.ca/en/regional-government/budget-and-finance-archives.aspx

These financial statements show a surplus for 2024. The appearance of a surplus is typical and occurs most years. This is due to accounting rules for audited financial statements versus how we budget for expenditures that occur over multiple years.  For example, the Region may receive grant money one year but spend it the next year. Regardless of timing, all funding received is invested back into the community.
