Waterloo Region – Regional Council has approved a three-year agreement with Unifor Local 4304. 

The agreement represents wage increases of: 

• May 1, 2026: $1/hour plus 2.5% 

• May 1, 2027: 2% 

• May 1,2028: 2% 

“We are pleased to have reached an agreement with Unifor Local 4304,” said Regional Chair Karen Redman. “This agreement is a testament to the positive working relationships between union membership and staff.” 

Unifor Local 4304 represents approximately 820 workers at Grand River Transit (GRT), including operators, maintenance technicians, service attendants, and reservationists.
