Waterloo landfill utility road construction
The Region of Waterloo is building a new soil storage area at the Waterloo landfill (Glasgow Street). This project will store excavated soil and clay during the construction of new waste cells.
The first stage of the project is the construction of a road connecting existing utility roads at the landfill to the soil storage construction area.
Timing
This work is expected to start in late September 2025, and finish before the end of the year.
Impact
The road construction will impact the Hydrocut trail system. Trail users, including the Waterloo Cycling Club, have been made aware. Trail users are advised to follow directions of site personnel and traffic signs while crossing the service road. Signage will also be posted at the Hydrocut trailhead off the Glasgow Street parking lot to advise trail users about the work.
