Waterloo Region - Public Health has confirmed the first human case of West Nile virus (WNV) for 2025 in Waterloo Region. The last local case was reported in 2024.

Kramp Road to Hopewell Creek Bridge About the project The Region of Waterloo is improving Shantz Station Road between Kramp Road and Hopewell Creek Bridge in Woolwich. This work will include resurfacing the asphalt and upgrading the guiderails on Hopewell Creek Bridge.

The Region of Waterloo has begun early planning and design work for a proposed pedestrian bridge over the Conestogo River, as part of the Guelph to Goderich (G2G) Rail Trail. The proposed bridge is located between Powell Road and Line 86, near the Village of Wallenstein.

Waterloo Region - The Region of Waterloo is working closely with partners and the Plan to End Chronic Homelessness co-creators to support people experiencing homelessness to stay warm and safe this winter. The Region will open two overnight warming spaces and continue to support two newly opened shelters for women and gender diverse individuals.

Waterloo Region, Ontario – The Region of Waterloo Library (RWL) is thrilled to announce the release of its 2026-2029 Service Delivery Plan, a guiding document for how the library serves residents across the community. The plan is crafted with valuable input gathered from nearly 1,000 community members in 2024 through online surveys, in-person discussion and focus groups.

Waterloo Region – Today, the Reconciliation Action Partnership and Maddie Bernard-Resmer unveiled the new Every Child Matters bus wrap and ambulance wrap, in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Indigenous History Month. The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.

The Region of Waterloo is building a new soil storage area at the Waterloo landfill (Glasgow Street). This project will store excavated soil and clay during the construction of new waste cells.

Waterloo Street to Union Street About the project The Region of Waterloo is repairing the Hartman Bridge in New Hamburg. This work includes repairing the concrete and steel bars.
