Construction notice: Shantz Station Road, Woolwich, October 2025
Kramp Road to Hopewell Creek Bridge
About the project
The Region of Waterloo is improving Shantz Station Road between Kramp Road and Hopewell Creek Bridge in Woolwich. This work will include resurfacing the asphalt and upgrading the guiderails on Hopewell Creek Bridge.
Timing
Construction will start on or about October 6 and take approximately 2 weeks to complete. Duration may change depending on site conditions and weather.
Lane reductions
Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times by flag persons or pace vehicles. Lanes will be reduced during this work. Please expect some delays and travel carefully through the construction zone. Motorists may need to drive on uneven or gravel driving surfaces.
Emergency Services (Police, Fire, Paramedics) as well as the Township of Woolwich have been notified of the construction, closures and detours to minimize any disruptions to services.
Pedestrian access
When walking or cycling through the construction zone please follow and obey the traffic signage for your safety.
Oversized and slow-moving vehicles
Large trucks and farming equipment will continue to use Shantz Station Road for access to businesses and area farms during construction. Many of these vehicles are wider than conventional lane widths and move at slow speeds. Please be patient, drive slowly through the construction zone, yield to oncoming wide vehicles or equipment, and use caution when approaching slow moving vehicles from behind.
