Food Recall Alert
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has announced that various Silk and Great Value brand plant based refrigerated beverages are recalled from the marketplace due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
Food and beverages contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, fever, muscle aches, severe headache, neck stiffness, and in severe cases death. In pregnant women, infection can lead to premature delivery, infection of the newborn or even stillbirth. The elderly and those with weakened immune systems are also at additional risk.
Action: Do not consume, use, sell, serve, or distribute recalled products. Products should be thrown out or returned to the location of purchase.
