Region of Waterloo Announces New Commissioner of Corporate Services and CFO

Waterloo Region – The Region of Waterloo is pleased to announce that Wayne Steffler will join the organization as Commissioner of Corporate Services and CFO. Wayne will lead a team that is dedicated to providing critical services to Waterloo Region residents on a daily basis through financial planning, budgeting, and capital and operational planning.

“We are excited to welcome Wayne to the team,” said Acting Chief Administrative Officer Mathieu Goetzke. “Wayne is a lifelong resident of Waterloo Region and is committed to creating a thriving community that balances growth and financial pressures, while ensuring a sustainable future for residents.”

Wayne has over 25 years of experience leading financial, administrative and cross-functional teams. Wayne has served as CFO and Vice President Finance and Administration at Sheridan College, where he transformed the Finance and Administration Division to be more current, efficient and service oriented.

Wayne also served as Assistant Vice President of Administration at Wilfrid Laurier University where he was responsible for a diverse range of activities, including new budget methodologies, investment portfolio restructuring and e-procurement technologies.

Most recently, he has been supporting KidsAbility in the role of Vice President Finance as they developed their new Strategic Plan.

Wayne will join the Region of Waterloo on October 7.
