Speed Cameras to go live at 11 schools across Waterloo Region

Waterloo Region – The Region of Waterloo’s Municipal Speed Camera program to support safer neighbourhoods and school zones has expanded.  Speed cameras are working alongside other road safety measures, including education, traffic-calming measures, police enforcement and road design improvements, to reduce speeding and enhance safety for all road users.

The following school zones will have speed cameras in use by September 24, 2025:

  • Forest Heights Collegiate, Fisher-Hallman Road, Kitchener
  • Forest Hill Public School, Westmount Road East, Kitchener
  • Monsignor Doyle Catholic Secondary School/Cambridge Christian School, Myers Road, Cambridge
  • Holy Spirit Catholic Elementary School/Moffat Creek Public School, Myers Road, Cambridge
  • St. Gabriel Catholic Elementary School, Guelph Avenue, Cambridge

The following school zones will have speed cameras in use by October 8, 2025:

  • Courtland Public School, Courtland Avenue, Kitchener
  • Bridgeport Public School, Bridge Street West, Kitchener
  • Chicopee Hills Public School, Lackner Boulevard, Kitchener
  • Clearview Mennonite School, Three Bridges Road, Woolwich
  • Eastwood Collegiate Institute, Weber Street East, Kitchener
  • Manchester Public School, Dundas Street North, Cambridge

Lower vehicle speeds in school zones help lower the risk and severity of traffic-related incidents, decrease traffic noise and vehicle emissions, and create safer and calmer neighbourhoods for walking, rolling and cycling.

All the locations can be found on this interactive map of speed camera locations.
