Water Supply Strategy Update looks for sustainable water sources

Waterloo Region –The Region of Waterloo is updating the Water Supply Strategy to ensure a safe, secure, and sustainable water supply through 2051, and are looking for public feedback throughout the process.

Public meeting — December 4

Public input will shape the recommendations for water supply, conservation, and long-term management. The first virtual public meeting is scheduled for December 4 at 7 p.m. through Zoom.

Regional staff will share background information and discuss the rollout of the Water Supply Strategy Update. The meeting is also an opportunity for the public to provide input on what they think is important to consider for this project. The Water Supply Strategy Update will build on previous plans and will review current water supply sources, assess future water demands, and investigate possible new water sources to accommodate the Region’s population and employment growth projections.

Resident feedback, technical studies, and advice from experts in the field will help guide the decision-making process.
