  • Construction notice: Fountain Street North, Woolwich, October – December 2025 Flanders Road to 270m south of railroad bridge About the project The Region of Waterloo is installing a new watermain along Fountain Street North from Flanders Road/Horseshoe Crescent to approximately 270m south of the railroad bridge. During this work the asphalt, shoulders and boulevards on the road will also be replaced.

  • Construction notice: Shantz Station Road, Woolwich, October 2025 Kramp Road to Hopewell Creek Bridge About the project The Region of Waterloo is improving Shantz Station Road between Kramp Road and Hopewell Creek Bridge in Woolwich. This work will include resurfacing the asphalt and upgrading the guiderails on Hopewell Creek Bridge.
  • Public meeting: Guelph to Goderich Rail Trail Proposed Pedestrian Bridge, Wellesley, October 16, 6 – 8 p.m. The Region of Waterloo has begun early planning and design work for a proposed pedestrian bridge over the Conestogo River, as part of the Guelph to Goderich (G2G) Rail Trail. The proposed bridge is located between Powell Road and Line 86, near the Village of Wallenstein.
  • Waterloo landfill utility road construction The Region of Waterloo is building a new soil storage area at the Waterloo landfill (Glasgow Street). This project will store excavated soil and clay during the construction of new waste cells.
  • Construction notice: Hartman Bridge, Huron Street, Wilmot, September 29–October 10 2025 Waterloo Street to Union Street About the project The Region of Waterloo is repairing the Hartman Bridge in New Hamburg. This work includes repairing the concrete and steel bars.
  • Speed Cameras to go live at 11 schools across Waterloo Region Waterloo Region - The Region of Waterloo's Municipal Speed Camera program to support safer neighbourhoods and school zones has expanded. Speed cameras are working alongside other road safety measures, including education, traffic-calming measures, police enforcement and road design improvements, to reduce speeding and enhance safety for all road users.
  • Construction update: Ira Needles Boulevard/Erbsville Road and Erb Street W, Waterloo, September 19, 20 and 22, 2025 Project update As part of the roundabout pedestrian safety pilot, we are doing the final asphalt paving on the Ira Needles Boulevard/Erbsville Road and Erb Street W roundabout in Waterloo. This work will require three overnight closures of the roads surrounding this intersection.
