  • Notice of Pesticide Use (3) Please be advised of the application of larvicide to the following locations for the control of West Nile Virus Vectors: Catch basinsSewage lagoonsDitches and standing waterBetween June 1, 2025 and August 31, 2025, municipalities within the Region of Waterloo will be conducting a larviciding program under the authority of the Region of Waterloo Medical Officer of Health to prevent the development of mosquito larvae into vectors of West Nile Virus. Altosid Pellets (PCP #21809, pellet), Altosid Granules (Methoprene, PCP #22676) or VectoLex WSP (PCP #28009, pouch) will be placed by hand into catch basins of storm drains within the Region.

  • Construction notice: Bleams Road extension, Kitchener, April–June 2025 Manitou Drive to Wilson Avenue Project update The Region of Waterloo is continuing to construct the Bleams Road extension from Manitou Drive to Wilson Avenue in Kitchener. This year’s work includes adding concrete curb and final asphalt to the new road and bridge, multi-use paths on both sides of the road, new lighting and underground infrastructure upgrades.
